Is This Treatment Right for You?

This service may be a good fit if you are dealing with any of the following:

  • Chronic neck and shoulder tension
  • Recurring back pain
  • Tight hip flexors from sitting
  • Repetitive strain from work or sport
  • Muscle knots that will not release on their own

What to Expect from Treatment

Targeted Relief
Deeper pressure reaches the underlying muscle layers that lighter massage cannot address — ideal for stubborn, chronic tension.
Improved Mobility
Releasing adhesions and tight muscle bands helps restore range of motion in the neck, shoulders, and back.
Faster Recovery
Whether from sport, work, or injury, deep tissue work speeds up the tissue repair process.
Lasting Results
Deep tissue changes tend to hold longer than relaxation massage — especially with regular sessions.
During Your Session

What Happens in a Session

Your RMT will work methodically through the affected muscle groups, using sustained pressure, friction, and cross-fibre strokes. You may feel some intensity during treatment — this is normal and your therapist will check in with you throughout. Mild soreness the next day is common and usually resolves within 24–48 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Deep tissue massage uses sustained, focused pressure to reach the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It targets chronic tension, adhesions, and trigger points that lighter massage cannot adequately address.

It should not be painful, but it can feel intense in areas of significant tension. A good deep tissue session works at the edge of your comfort — communicate with your RMT and they will adjust.

Relaxation massage focuses on overall calming and stress relief. Therapeutic/deep tissue massage targets specific problem areas with deeper, more focused work.

For chronic tension or pain, every two to three weeks is typical until symptoms improve, then monthly maintenance.
